How to Get There
Bageshwar District is well connected by road. Kathgodam, the nearest railhead, is about 8-10 hours drive away, while Pantnagar, the nearest airport, is a 12 hour drive. The recommended option is to take a train to Kathgodam, and from there a taxi to Bageshwar. From Bageshwar, the rough roads to the villages of Karmi and Dhur are accessible only by four wheel drive vehicle. Local jeep taxis run from Bageshwar connecting to Karmi and the surrounding villages. Pickup from Kathgodam can also be arranged for guests.
The journey can be broken up with a stopover in the pictiresque Ranikhet and Berinag at one of Bageshwar's sister co-operative homestays.
The nearest airport is Delhi. There is an increasing number of international flights to Delhi, with carriers including Virgin Atlantic, British Airways, Air India and Jet Airways.
